Workshop 8: Field Trip
1.
* The light (natural sun light) seems ample so the ISO setting should be low, aperture is in medium range (f7.1 - f10), shutter speed should be around 1/80 - 1/400.
* Main colors are red, yellow and gray, a kind of triadic color scheme. Subjects are on (near) the 1/3 line, a balanced composition.
* This seems a scene of vacation, feels comfortable and relax.
* Genevieve Gaignard is a Los Angeles based artist whose work focuses on photographic self-portraiture, sculpture, and installation to explore race, femininity, class, and their various intersections.
2.
* The photo seems shot in studio, the light source is from top, the ISO should be low, DOF is not very shallow, so the aperture might be f4 and up. There is no reason to use a slow shutter speed (though there wouldn't be wrong to use one) so might be 1/60 - 1/400.
* The main colors are light blue, orange and white, a complementary color scheme. The subject is right in the middle of the frame.
* A fried egg with some colored little sticks on it, looks interesting and creative.
* Alexandre Berthiaume is a montreal based multi-disciplinary artist working in photography, graphic design, industrial design, sculpture and video.
3.
* The photo seems shot in studio, the soft light source is from left front of the subject. the ISO should be low, DOF is not shallow, so the aperture might be f7.1 and up. The fire flame is well freezed so is not a slow shutter speed, so might be 1/125 and up.
* The main colors are blue, red, yellow and green, a rectangular color scheme. The subject is right in the middle of the frame.
* The image shows fire is burning a bundle of flowers, not a pleasing view, fortunately its a scene rarely seen in real life.
* Christto & Andrew are an artistic duo based in Doha, Qatar and Copenhagen, Denmark. They work across various mediums including photography, installation and film.
4.
* The window light is not strong, slow shutter speed is needed to keep low ISO and deep DOF. Aperture might be f10 and up.
* The main colors are red and brown, a analogous color scheme. The window light is dramatic, and the mirror makes the photo interesting.
* I don't understand the meaning of the photo. seems the photographer has been bored of shooting ordinary life.
* From web search I found that most of Noah Kalina's works are interesting and understandable.
